The Ultimate pilgrimage trip, the camping trek of Mt Kailas (Kang Rinpoche) and Lake Manasarovar, can be done either by driving to the mountain or walking from the Simikot/Humla region of Nepal. Traditionally considered the navel of the unverse, Mt Kailas, is the physical and metaphysical centre of the world to Hindus, Buddhists, Jains and Bonpos. Meru or Sumeru in Sanskrit, Kailas or “Shining Crystal” in Hindi, Buddhists, and Kang Rinpoche, “Jewel of the Snows,” in Tibetan, the mountain rises 21, 850 feet ( ca 7300m ) and forms an impressive monolithic symbol that can be seen from all directions. Our trekking trips include the traditional circuit of the Holy Mountain and visits to the monasteries and holy spots along Lake Manasarovar as well as the lost city of Tsaparang in the ancient Guge kingdom of Tibet.

Itinerary:

Mt. Kailash & Lake Manasarovar: 22 days (fly in and drive out) and Drive in and drive out 14 days trek

Day 1: Fly Kathmandu to Lhasa. Himalaya hotel (new wing)
Day 2-3: Sightseeing in Lhasa. Himalaya hotel
Day 4: Drive to Tsurpu, visit monastery back to Lhasa. Himalaya hotel
Day 5: Dreve to Gyangtse, visit Yamdrok Lake and visit monasteries. Gyangtse hotel
Day 6: Drive to Shigatse and visit Tashilunpo monestery. Shigatse hotel
Day 7: Drive to Lhatse/ over night camp beyond Lhatse.
Day 8: Drive to Saga/ over night camp beyond Saga.
Day 9: Drive to Zhongba/ over night camp beyond Zhongba.
Day 10: Drive to Phayang/ over night camp beyond Phayang.
Day 11: Drive to Mansarover/ over night camp at Chu Gomba.
Day 12: Rest day.
Day 13: Drive to Darchen and arrange Yak for trek around Kailash. Over Night camp.
Day 14: Trek to Deraphuk 6 hours hike. Over night camp.
Day 15: Trek to Zuthulphuk after crossing the Dolma La 19300Ft. Over night camp.
Day 16: Trek to Dzutrul Phuk. Over night camp.
Day 17: Trek to Darchen and drive to Hor Qu. Over night camp.
Day 18: Drive to Payang. Over night camp.
Day 19: Drive to Saga. Over night camp.
Day 20: Drive to Paikutso. Over night camp.
Day 21: Drive to Zhangmu. Over night Zhangmu Hotel.
Day 22: Drive to Kathmandu.
